Jaguar Land Rover has new global sales chief image

North America’s President Andy Goss has just been promoted to group sales operations director as part of a shuffle of global sales and marketing executives.

Effective October 1, Goss, 55, will be responsible for global sales and customer service and will join the company’s executive committee in the United Kingdom. Phil Popham has been named group-marketing director for Jaguar and Land Rover, with responsibility for global marketing. He is currently group sales operations director.

“Both Popham and Goss have held leadership positions for the company in North America and have strong experience in customer service,” the company said in a statement.

“With this global role I now have a mandate to personally oversee the acceleration of our business in our largest and most influential markets, especially the United States,” Goss said in a statement. “We have an ambitious global agenda for both of our brands, and I look forward to helping the team reach new heights.”

The changes in sales and marketing are being made to increase growth opportunities in key markets worldwide, according to the company. Jaguar Land Rover’s global sales rose 14% to 210,190 units in the first half of the year. Demand this year has surged 26% in Asia Pacific, 13% across North America, and 6% in Europe, where overall industry sales remain weak.
