Jaguar Land Rover to recall 157 XJ type sedans in China image

Jaguar Land Rover Auto Trade (Shanghai) Co Ltd announced on May 27 that it will recall 157 XJ type sedans in China to fix faulty brake systems, reported, citing a statement of the country’s quality watchdog.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, who has received the company’s report, said the Jaguar Land Rover cars, which were produced between March 15, 2002 and January 19, 2004, will be recalled as from June 4.

The quality administration’s statement said brakes on these cars could fail in its function and cause a safety hazard, due to a design flaw in the circuit brake system, and shock and noise absorption plate.

The Jaguar Land Rover trade company in Shanghai said it will replace the brake system and defuse the shock and noise absorption plate on baseboards.
