The British based automaker Porsche might develop a new body style of the impressive F-Type, a Targa.
The announcement has been made by the company’s head of Design, Ian Callum, who has recently spoken to the guys at Auto Express, during the launch of the F-Type Coupe. According to our source, the third body style of the Jaguar F-Type, the Targa in this case, is currently being considered, but its faith hasn’t been decided just yet.
“The issue with the Targa is volume. If you think of Porsche, 10 per cent of its cars are Targa, 10 per cent of ours is less than theirs. You have to work out the business case but we have considered it, it’s not decided yet”, said Callum to our source.
If it will eventually hit the market, than the Jaguar F-Type Targa will be offered with the same engine lineup like the Coupe and Convertible. This will be made from the 3.0L supercharged V6 petrol, with 335 HP (250 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, the 3.0L supercharged V6 petrol with 375 HP (279 kW) and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft) of torque, or the 5.0 liter supercharged V8, with 488 HP (364 kW) and 625 Nm (461 lb-ft) of torque, in the Convertible, or 542 HP (405 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque, in the Coupe.
