Jaguar might produce a lighter and hotter version of the current F-Type which will be called the Club Sport and it will probably be based on the F-Type Coupe R.
The British based automaker Jaguar is rumored to develop a new lighter and hotter version of the F-Type Coupe R, which will be named the Club Sport. According to a recent report published by Motoring, the model in question will be shedding some 200 kg (441 lbs) from its weight which currently stands at 1,665 kg (3,670 lbs) thanks to the use of various lightweight materials and to a stripped out cabin.
The Jaguar F-Type Club Sport will also get carbon fiber body panels and race style carbon fiber seats to help it weigh 1,465 kg (3,185 lbs). Power is believed to come from the engine found in the F-Type R Coupe, the 5.0 liter V8 supercharged unit, which is currently producing 550 HP (404 kW) and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque. The regular vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in approximately 4 seconds and it can reach an electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). More details on the F-Type Club Sport remain unknown for the moment.
