The British based automaker Jaguar has recently announced that the new F-Type is enjoying a vibrant start, after half of the 2013 production has been sold.
The announcement has been made by the company’s global brand director, Adrian Hallmark, who as spoken to Europe Automotive News. According to the Jaguar official, the new F-Type sports car will help boost the brand’s image and it seems that people already prefer it over a Porsche. The F-Type is expected to make 15 or 20 percent of the company’s annual output. 90 percent of the F-Type’s buyers are expected to be new to the brand, considering the fact that the sports car has no direct predecessor.
The cheapest version of the Jaguar F-Type is coming with a 3.0 liter supercharged V6 engine, which is producing a total output of 340 HP and 332 lb-ft of torque. This version can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 161 mph. The F-Type V6 S has the same 3.0L V6, which is now producing 380 HP, enough for a 171 mph top speed and a 0 to 60 mph sprint of 4.8 seconds. The top of the line is the F-Type V8 S, which is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine, which is producing a total output of 495 HP and 460 lb-ft of torque. This model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 186 mph.
