Jaguar is planning to offer manual transmissions for the new F-Type sports car, but this won’t be introduced for at least 12 months.
The British based automaker Jaguar is placing its F-Type into the spotlights once again, this time by announcing through the voice of the global brand director Adrian Hallmark that the company is planning to offer the sports car with manual transmissions too. But if you’re into the model and you would like to order it with a manual transmission, you should know that the automaker will release these versions after at least 12 months, so the waiting time will be quite long.
“Sports cars need a manual transmission for sports credibility. The XF is the biggest format we could move to for a manual”, said Adrian Hallmark.
As a quick reminder, the final production version of the Jaguar F-Type has been officially presented to the public earlier this year, and the model is coming in three versions, the F-Type, with its 3.0 liter V6 engine with 340 HP, the F-Type S, with the same 3.0 liter V6 but generating 380 HP and the F-Type V8 S, with a V8 unit developing 495 HP and 625 Nm of torque. Prices for the F-Type will start at 58,500 GBP, while for the F-Type V8 S you will have to pay 79,950 GBP.
