Jaguar is currently testing out its baby sedan, the 2015 XE, which will become a rival for the BMW 3-Series, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Audi A4, amongst others.
The development of the Jaguar XE is no longer a surprise as the model has been confirmed by the company. The test mule pictured below seems to be the last minute testing as the model in question will be officially presented to the public over the next few months, during the 2014 Paris Motor Show, in a world premiere.
The new Jaguar XE will be riding on the newly developed iQ[AI] lightweight platform and it will be taking many of the styling cues from its larger brothers, the XF and the XJ. This will include the LED infused headlights, the sculpted hood, the prominent front grille, the high positioned trunk, the aerodynamic side skirts and we also notice the sloping roof line, which will give it a coupe look. As far as the engine lineup goes, this will include a 3.0 liter V6, a 5.0 liter supercharged V8 and an entry-level four-cylinder. More details on the Jaguar XE will be announced during the 2014 Paris Motor Show, this October.
