This year at Geneva Auto Show, Jaguar is launching a 550-horsepower, high-performance model called the XKR-S.

With a higher output supercharged V8 engine (up from 510bhp to 542bhp), revised suspension, and a new aerodynamically-driven design, the Jaguar XKR-S expresses the company’s long held duality of purpose: GT luxury with incredible performance.
Extensive recalibration has ensured that power delivery and performance are seamless, contributing to a 0-60mph time of 4.2 seconds. The Performance active exhaust encourages and rewards the enthusiastic driver with dramatic, motorsport-inspired aural feedback.

§  Third generation of the AJ-V8 all-aluminium powerplant with twin-vortex Roots-type supercharger.

§  Revising the fuelling map boosts power and torque to 550PS and 680Nm.

§  Spray-guided direct injection delivers precisely measured quantities of fuel into the cylinder heads at 150bar.

§  Variable timing system on all four camshafts features actuation rates of more than 150 degrees per second.

”The XKR-S is a bold and exciting new model for Jaguar,” said Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar’s new Global Brand Director. ”We expect to attract both loyal and new Jaguar driving enthusiasts who still want the comfort, opulence and class only a Jaguar can offer, combined with inspirational performance.”

The new XKR-S gets a new version of Jag’s brilliant adaptive dynamics suspension with uprated dampers, active sports exhaust system, and new aero to reduce lift and assist the massive brakes, which measure 380mm at the front and 376mm at the rear – bigger than a Lamborghini Murcielago’s.

The car is being released in tandem with the 50th anniversary of the E-Type. The E-Type made its debut at a Geneva hotel in 1961.
