Jaguar’s F-Type SVR now has a job – Nurburgring Taxi image

Even when you’re a hot supercar you sometimes need to do your part and go to work from 9 to 5. But then again that work might be enjoyable if you have to haul people up and down the famed Nurburgring Nordschleife performing “taxi” duties.

Of course when speaking about taxis you think of dull sedans – even those manned by ride-sharing companies are just as boring. But there’s one magical place where they transform. It’s the Green Hell of course. So, far from being you run of the mill taxi, the Jaguar F-Type SVR can now be booked at the Nurburgring where professional drivers will make sure you’ll enjoy the iconic 12.94-mile circuit. This is thanks to the new “Jaguar Co-Pilot Nordschleife” program which gives shotgun rides for half an hour to people willing to cope with the most hardcore version of the F-Type ever, the SVR.

The procedure is also no ordinary open the door, throw your luggage in, as the riders need to put on a race suit and helmet as well as a HANS (Head and Neck Support) system for safety purposes. Persons under 18 are not allowed to partake and the ride will set you back €295 (about $335). The 575-hp F-Type will be there for 16 weekends – until the end of October. In case you’re willing to buy the thing for yourself afterwards, be prepared to shell out $129,950 in the United States or £110,000 at home in Great Britain.
