Jaguar’s XJR575 costs a bucket load in the US image

Considering this is the most powerful XJ limousine ever constructed, the starting price of $122,400 in the United States might be totally warranted.

The Jaguar XJ certainly has the British elegance panache – but unfortunately for the brand also has the vintage flavor because it’s one of the company’s oldest offerings, arriving in this current generation on the market back in 2009. Now the large limousine is getting a jolt thanks to the introduction of this performance version, first showcased to the world in July. The Jaguar XJR575 is now earning its title by being the most powerful, quickest production XJ the brand has ever manufactured, featuring under the long and elegant hood a 5.0-liter V8 packing 575 supercharged ponies and 516 pound-feet (700 Newton-meters) of torque, topping the XJ R that comes with 550 hp (410 kW) and 502 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque.

With such credentials, hurtling this humongous sedan to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in just 4.4 seconds, and on to the maximum speed of 186 mph (299 kph) in just 44 seconds is quite effortless. The XJR575 naturally comes with a few modifications to set it apart in a crowd – Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations division created the Velocity Blue and Sating Corris Grey paints, and there are also twin louvres on the hood, 20-inch Farallon gloss-black wheels, and bespoke detailing all around the body.
