Japan: Automobile Production up 4.5% in November; Exports up 2.3% image

Production of cars, trucks and buses in November 2011 was recorded as 838, 135 units. Compared with the 801,969 units total recorded for the same month of the previous year, this is an increase of 36,166 units or 4.5 percent, the Japanese Automobile Manufacturers Association said on Tuesday.

Jama also reports that auto exports in November were up 2.3 percent. Exports were also helped by a recovery in the supply of parts from Thailand after recent flooding, and totaled 442,672 vehicles in November, up from 432,515 in the same month a year earlier, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association said Tuesday.

Domestic sales in November 2011 stood at 395,567 vehicles, up 22.2% as compared with the same month of the previous year.
