The Land of the Rising Sun has been treated recently to a plethora of special edition models – especially by BMW – and American premium brand Cadillac has decided to take notice.
As such they have prepared the ATS Luxury Sport Edition (which is a contradiction, actually) that comes with larger 19-inch alloys backed by upgraded Brembo brakes. Cadillac is making the ATS a bit more enticing via this limited-run model built specifically for Japan, with the beefy 19-inch V-spoke alloy wheels featuring a two-tone look. These are shod in run-flat Pirelli P Zero tires measuring 225/35 R19 at the front and 255/30 R19 for the rear axles. The pot is even more enticing when we mention the Brembo brakes in combination with a sports suspension. Owners can also select either the Sable Black or Crystal White body paints and the cabin is clad in cashmere accents for that bespoke premium touch.
In terms of powertrain management, the special series makes use of the same turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine delivering 272 hp (203 kW) and 295 pound-feet (400 Newton meters) of torque. Power is directed to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Cadillac Japan announced prices start from ¥5,290,000 (about $49,911). In case you were wondering, in the US the same 2016 model year ATS with the 2.0-liter turbo, RWD, and eight-speed auto will set new buyers back just $36,240.
