Japan: Mitsubishi launches eK Wagon and eK Custom image

The Japanese based automaker Mitsubishi has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creations, the new eK variants, on their local auto market.

According to the car manufacturer, the so-called Mitsubishi eK Wagon and eK Custom have been jointly developed with Nissan and these versions are more stylish than their predecessor. The two models are basically identical, except for the aggressive front fascia, with slender headlights and larger grille, adopted by the eK Custom. The vehicles in question are both adopting flowing lines and gently curved surfaces, on their exterior design.

The cabin of the models is getting metallic accents, a lot of storage compartments, a three-spoke steering wheel and a sliding rear seat, while the options list includes the GPS navigation system integrated into the infotainment system, rearview camera and push button ignition, amongst others. Power is being provided by a three-cylinder unit, which is good for 49 HP (36 kW) and 59 Nm of torque (43 lb-ft). The turbocharged version is packing 64 HP (47 kW) and 98 Nm of torque (70 lb-ft). Both units are mated to a CVT, which can send power to the AWD system. Prices for the eK Wagon start at 1,050,000 Yen and for the eK custom at 1,269,000 Yen.
