McLaren has given Jay Leno the chance to drive its hottest supercar up to date, the brand new P1, on the Top Gear test track.
One of the most famous petrol heads out there, Jay Leno, has already driven the Porsche 918 Spyder during an automotive even held last week, and now time has come for him to take a spin in the brand new McLaren P1. The British based automaker has given Jay Leno the chance to take the new P1 for a spin on the Top Gear test track. The footage posted below is showing him talking to the McLaren Automotive operations director Alan Foster inside the company’s plant and taking the hot P1 for a quick lap.
The McLaren P1 has been officially presented to the public back in March, in a world premiere, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The supercar in question is rivaling the Ferrari LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder. The McLaren P1 is powered by a 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine and an electric motor. The total output produced stands at 916 HP (674 kW) and 900 Nm of torque (663 lb-ft). The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 3 seconds and top speed has been electronically limited to 350 km/h (217 mph).
