A Fiat 500 Prima Editizione, owned by the famous Jay Leno, has been recently auctioned at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance for a mind blowing 350,000 USD.
After the officials at Pebble Beach have announced back in July that a vehicle owned by Jay Leno will be auctioned during the event, a Fiat 500 Prima Edizione, the model in question has exceeded every expectation and managed to fetch an impressive 350,000 USD. Hold on to your pants because these money won’t enter Jay Leno’s bank accounts even if this car used to belong to him because the famous host of the “Tonight Show” said that the model has been auctioned for charity.
“Hopefully some good Samaritan will pay way more than it’s worth. It’s a fun car to drive, it’s a cool little car. Any time you want to take the little car instead of the big car, then you are doing it right”, used to say Jay Leno before the auction began.
One of the richest petrol heads in the world, Jay Leno, said that all the money raised from auctioning his Fiat 500 Prima Edizione will go to the Fisher House Foundation, a nonprofit organization, which is offering support and services to the families of wounded American soldiers.
The Fiat 500 Prima Edizione was one of 500 made to commemorate Fiat’s return to the United States in 2011 and the model is numbered 00002, being the second produced form the total of 500 and the first to be delivered to a customer. The car was expected to get between 25,000 and 35,000 USD during the Pebble Beach auction.
