An SRT4 version of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee is currently being considered by the North American based automaker and the model has been confirmed by the company’s Head of International Product Planning.
Good news for those of you looking to get an even hotter version of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee because the model is getting ready to receive yet a new version. According to the guys at the 2014 Jeep Cherokee will soon receive an SRT4 version. The model was acknowledged by Steve Bartoli, the company’s head of International Product Planning, during the Cherokee official launch in California. The Jeep boss said that the 6.4 liter HEMI V8 unit, from the larger Grand Cherokee SRT8, will not be installed on the Cherokee SRT4, since it won’t fit.
The vehicle’s lead designer, Greg Howell, also said that the 2014 Jeep Cherokee will be tuned by SRT and he hinted that the model will probably get a four-cylinder turbocharged engine under its hood, rather than a naturally aspirated six-cylinder unit, which will also burn more fuel. The engine is expected to be mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, which will send power to the all-wheel drive system. besides the more powerful engine, the 2014 Jeep Cherokee SRT4 will also get a more aggressive styling, a revised suspension system and several more upgrades.
