Jeep is planning on introducing a new luxury SUV, the so-called Grand Wagoneer, which will rival the Range Rover.
According to a recent report published by the guys from Autocar, the North American based automaker Jeep is planning on introducing a new range topper SUV, which will rival the Range Rover. The model in question will be called the Grand Wagoneer. This is actually a dream of the company global brand director, Michael Manley, who said numerous times that such a model has big potential.
“Part of my plan says there is space for us above the Grand Cherokee. I’ve always talked about Grand Wagoneer and that for me is a big focus and will fill out the brand at the top”, said Manley. “I think that vehicle [Grand Wagoneer] will very, very effectively compete with premium SUVs.”
The new Jeep Grand Wagoneer will be able to sit seven passengers on three rows of seats and it will become a rival for the Discovery or for the Range Rover. The company’s official said that the model in question will not cannibalize the upcoming Maserati Levante SUV. An exact date for when the model will begin testing or hitting the production line hasn’t been announced.
