The NHTSA has recently announced that the Jeep Patriot model is currently investigated because of an engine stall with no warning.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, approximately 112, 000 units of the 2011-2012 Jeep Patriot vehicles are being investigated for engine stall with no warning. The feds have received 12 complaints from owners of the Jeep Patriot because of engine stalls and the Chrysler Group is cooperating with the NHTSA in the preliminary investigation.
“Approximately 80 percent of the incidents occurred at speeds of 65 miles per hour or more. All complaints reported that the vehicle could not be immediately restarted and two-thirds reported that the vehicle could not be restarted at all or that it was towed to the dealership. One complaint alleged that the incident resulted in a crash and injury”, as the NHTSA is saying in a summary of the problem.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration didn’t announce a recall just yet but an investigation can often lead to a recall.
