The North American based automaker Jeep is planning to introduce an SRT version of the new Jeep Cherokee, which is expected to make its way onto the market quite soon.
After it was officially introduced just a few months ago and it’s currently going through a production delay, because of a “wide range of issues”, as the company says, but that doesn’t mean that this isn’t one important vehicle, in fact the most important Jeep model this year. In order to make it more attractive to its future customers, Jeep is now planning to develop an SRT version of the new Cherokee.
The announcement hasn’t been made already but rumors are saying that we should expect an aggressive styling, a street-oriented all-wheel drive system, a nine-speed automatic transmission and some other tweaks. Speaking of the engine, this is rumored to be the turbocharged / twin turbo Pentastar V6, which could produce between 375 HP and 410 HP (280 kW and 306 kW). Another possible unit is the 2.4 liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which is offering more than 300 HP (224 kW). Additional details on the new Jeep Cherokee SRT are limited for the moment and will be announced over the following months.
