Jeep wants to conquer the wintery Europe with the Grand Cherokee S image

The iconic US automaker should be a niche player, but in fact it’s actually one of the busiest companies this start of the year – they just introduced the facelifted Cherokee in Detroit, the all-new Grand Commander flagship SUV in China and now took the time to also cater for the Old Continent.

We’re talking about the new limited series edition of the Grand Cherokee – the Grand Cherokee S, which is coming live in most European markets as a stylish way of fighting this hard winter. This is a top of the line edition for the flagship model in Europe, so as a range-topper it arrives with 20-inch wheels, black details on the grilles in the front fascia, tinted windows with black chrome surround, and dual exhausts with a black chrome tip. The same atmosphere is deployed in the cabin as well, where there’s black wood along with black instrument panel accent stitching.

The standard perks are also all-inclusive: there’s a sports suspension setup, the top of the line 8.4-inch screen for the Uconnect infotainment system bundled with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 506-watt premium Alpine audio system complete with active noise cancellation, a panoramic dual-pane sunroof, leather covered steering wheel, heated and ventilated front and heated rear seats, along with an extensive list of safety and assist systems. We might include here forward collision warning, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot monitoring, among others.

There are 10 different exterior colors, and a choice of three powertrains. At the basics resides a 3.0-liter diesel with 250 horsepower (186 kilowatts), then you can opt for a naturally aspirated gasoline 3.6-liter V6 good for 286 hp (213 kW) and if you want the full American experience, go for the Hemi. It’s the Hemi V8 5.7-liter, linked to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, along with the Quadra-Drive II all-wheel drive system with a rear electronic limited-slip differential.
