Formula One driver Jenson Button will be taking delivery of his dream supercar, a McLaren P1, over the next few days.
Did you ever wonder what would be the dream supercar for a Formula 1 driver like Jenson Button? Well, he disclosed recently, in an interview with Top Gear, that this is a McLaren P1 which he has already bought and he will be taking delivery of it in a few days.
“TG: And your dream car away from the track?
JB: I’ve got it. A McLaren P1. Well, I get it next week! I’ve also got a CLK AMG DTM. And a Ferrari F40. And a Smart car…”, said Jenson Button to Top Gear.
We are not sure at the moment what color he has chosen or if this has anything special on it compared to the regular version but we will remind you that the McLaren P1 has been officially presented to the public back in 2013, during the Geneva Motor Show. This is a direct rival for the Porsche 918 Spyder and for the Ferrari LaFerrari and it has been put together in just 375 units, with all of them being sold out.
The McLaren P1 is offered in a two-door coupe body style, with a rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout, taking its power from a modified twin turbo V8 3.8 liter engine, rated at 727 HP and 719 Nm, backed up by an in-house developed electric motor, generating 176 HP and 260 Nm of torque. The total output stands at 903 HP and 978 Nm of torque and it is sent to the RWD through a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the hypercar needs 2.8s and top speed is electronically limited to 350 km/h (217 mph).
