The former Formula 1 World Champion, Jenson Button, has recently went for a spin in the brand new McLaren P1 supercar.
The British based automaker McLaren has given the P1 to Jenson Button to test it during the unveil of the new 2013 Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-28. The Formula 1 driver has taken a prototype of the P1 onto the stage, which has been codenamed the XP. No additional details on the McLaren P1 have been announced during the event but we know for a fact that the final production version of the supercar will be officially presented to the public next month, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
The McLaren P1 is expected to get the same 3.8 liter V8 engine under its hood as the MP4-12C or the 12C Spider, but the version used on the supercar will be tweaked in order to produce an extra 120 HP. Rumors are saying that the McLaren P1 will target the Bugatti Veyron in terms of top speed and it will be the fastest accelerating car in the world. The McLaren P1 is the official successor of the F1. More details on the supercar are limited for the moment and will be announced in Geneva.
