Jeremy Clarkson selects the 2015 and 2016 top 10 cars image

The TV presenter is well known for his Top Gear stint, but he is also famous for his interesting tastes. So, we should expect quirky things to come from his top ten cars of the year.

The list of the host of the upcoming Amazon Prime Show, The Grand Tour, also has a long-lived column in The Sunday Times in the United Kingdom where he usually says his thoughts about the latest cars. As the autumn season is looming, he decided to come up with his wish list for the top ten cars from both 2015 and this year. Some will be surprising – while others represent him entirely. To make the list, the cars also needed what co-host James May titled as “the fizz.” This means they have something special – be it the design, gadgets or the engine – allowing them to be more than mere tools getting us from A to B.

“When you drive a Ferrari 488 GTB round a corner on a racetrack, it doesn’t feel like a tool that you’re operating. Or even a comfy, well-fitting glove. It feels like an extension of your very self,” comments the star presenter in the column. So here’s the list: Mazda MX-5 Miata 2.0 Sport Recaro; Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe; Mercedes-AMG GT S; Ford Focus RS; Ford Mustang Fastback 5.0 V8 GT; Volvo XC90 D5 AWD; Vauxhall Zafira Tourer 1.6 CDTi Tech Line; BMW M2; Ferrari 488 GTB and the Lamborghini Aventador.
