Keith Richards’ 1972 Ferrari Dino 246GT heading to auction image

A Ferrari Dino 246GT, previously owned by Keith Richards, famous English musician and member of the Rolling Stones, will be heading for the Coys auction in Monaco, soon.

The classic Ferrari Dino 246GT has been bought by Keith Richards back in February 1972 and it was kept by the rock legend until 1986. During these 14 years, he did over 25,000 miles (40,233 km) on the odometer.

“A Dino offered at no reserve is rare enough in itself and would make this is a highly desirable and collectible item in its own right, but when one adds to this proven long-term ownership by rock and roll aristocracy, the Keith Richards’s car has to be the ultimate Dino and will surely give any car collector and rock enthusiast a great ‘Satisfaction’!”, said Chris Routledge, the Coys managing partner.

As a small reminder, the Ferrari Dino 246GT has been produced between 1969 and 1974 in just 3,761 units and this came in two body styles, Berlinetta and Targa Top, with a mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout. Power was being provided by a 2,4 liter V6, which produced 195 HP at 7,600 rpm in the European version, while the American one was good for 175 HP. The unit was mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
