The South Korean based automaker Kia has announced that the Carens model will be officially presented to the public in Australia during the 2012 Sydney Motor Show.
According to the car manufacturer, the Kia Carens will be known as the Kia Rondo in Australia and, besides this, the company will also present the Track’ster, during the same automotive event. Kia says that right after the presentation, the Rondo will be launched locally with a 2.0 liter four-cylinder petrol engine, which is producing a total output of 103 kW and 211 Nm of torque, along with a 1.7 liter diesel alternative, generating 100 kW and 330 Nm of torque.
The new generation of the Kia Carens will be offered in two versions, with either five or seven seats, but according to the carmaker, the United Kingdom will only get the latter. The 2013 Kia Carens is based on the same platform as the new generation of the Kia Cee’d and it’s expected to share the same engine lineup too with the hatchback. Additional details on the new Kia Carens are limited for the moment. The Australian Motor Show (Sydney) will start on the 18th of October.
