After being just a rumor almost a month ago, the Kia GT rear-wheel drive concept is close to making its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week and now we have a real idea of how the car will look.
“We have made good progress recently but it is now important for us to improve our brand power. Concepts like these will help a lot with that. But we are prepared to take our time. We will test plenty of ideas before we make any decisions about production”, said the Kia vice chairman and CEO Hank Lee.
Not much is known about the South Korean Concept yet but one thing is for sure: it will have offspring. A convertible version of the Soul model is aimed at the over-seas auto market and after that a Cee’d-based roadster with front-wheel drive will leave the production line. Both models are expected to be unveiled at the next year’s Detroit and Geneva Motor Shows.
The Frankfurt Kia stand will also host, besides the GT Concept, a three-door Rio and a facelift for the Soul.
