The Kia GT Concept has a good chance of hitting the production line sometime around 2016, as a recent report is saying.
The British automotive media is saying that the Kia GT Concept will probably hit the production line in 2016. According to the guys at Auto Express, the model in question has been hinted by Soon-Nam Lee, the Kia vice president of marketing, who said: “We have plans to build a GT – we spoke about it at our global marketing conference in Singapore. We’ll be mainly targeting the end of 2016 or early 2017”. The production model remains uncertain for the moment and we can’t even guess what engine it will have under its hood.
The Kia GT Concept has been officially presented to the public back in 2011, during the Frankfurt Motor Show. The model in question is taking its power from a 3.3liter V6 engine, which is producing a total output of 395 HP (290 kW) and 534 Nm (394 lb-ft) of torque. Power was being sent to the rear-wheel drive through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Initial rumors were saying that if it will indeed make its way onto the market, than it could get a 3.8L MPI V6 with 290 HP (213 kW) and a 3.8L GDI V6, with 334 HP (246 kW).
