Kia Motors today announced it sold 220,037 vehicles in November, 22.8 percent more than in the same month last year.
November sales have increased in many of its major sales regions, excepting the company’s home market where they dropped by 11.4 percent to 39,031 units. Kia posted strong double digit year-on-year sales increases in most of its major sales regions, with Europe recording the biggest growth at 40.9 percent to 45,985 units.
The North America region grew 36.7 percent to 41,861 units, while China added 33.4 percent to 48,689 units. In Kia’s general markets, including Central and South America, the Caribbean, Asia (excluding China and Korea), the Pacific, Middle East and Africa, sales grew 25.7 percent to 44,471 units. In the first eleven months of 2011, Kia’s global sales have increased by 18.7 percent year-on-year, reaching 2,264,262 units.
Kia’s best selling model in overseas markets in November was the B-segment Rio (K2 in China), with 37,764 units sold. The C-segment Cerato (known as Forte in some markets) was the second best seller with 31,178 units delivered, while the Sportage compact crossover sold 30,148 units. The larger Sorento had sales of 19,358 units, while the D-segment Optima sedan was bought by 15,483 customers.
