The brand new Kia Optima T-Hybrid Concept has been officially introduced during the 2014 Paris Motor Show, in a premiere.
After it has been officially revealed online, at the end of last month, the brand new Kia Optima T-Hybrid Concept has been finally introduced at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The model in question has been fitted with a stop/start system, with a new belt-driven starter generator which, according to Kia, can significantly decrease the vibration and the noise during the engine start and with a 48V lead-carbon battery which is allowing the model to be driven on electric power alone, at low speeds.
Power is being provided by a hybrid diesel powertrain, which is made out of a 1.7 liter four-cylinder CRDi internal combustion unit, backed up by an electric motor. The engine has also received an electric supercharger. Despite being officially unveiled a couple of weeks ago and also making its public debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the South Korean based automaker hasn’t released any performance figures on the Optima T-Hybrid, so chances are we will be hearing on this model in the future.
