Kia has recently announced its plans to introduce the Picanto LPG next month, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, in a premiere.
According to the South Korean based automaker, the Kia Picanto LPG will be officially presented to the public during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, on the 10th of September. The model in question will get a 35-liter gasoline tank, located in front of the rear axle, and a 27-liter pressurized LPG tank, fitted beneath the trunk floor, where the spare wheel sits. The button on the dashboard is allowing drivers to make a switch between gasoline and LPG, and the other way around.
The new Kia Picanto LPG will be powered by a 1.0 liter three-cylinder Kappa gasoline engine, which is producing a total output of 67 HP (49 kW) and it has a peak torque of 90 Nm (66 lb-ft). The average fuel consumption on LPG will stand at 5.8L / 100 km, and the CO2 emissions will not get passed 100 g/km. On the automatic start / stop equipped versions, the average fuel consumption will drop to 5.6L / 100 km. The Kia Picanto LPG will go on sale later on this year. No pricing details have been announced yet.
