The South Korean automaker has released the first official renderings of the upcoming cee’d TCR that is set to partake in the TCR International Series.
Kia will be fighting in the series against the likes of Alfa Romeo, Seat, Volkswagen, Honda and Opel in the second season of the competition – which has actually already commenced with a race on the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, on the sidelines of the F1 Bahrain Grand Prix. The TCR is of course starting life as a regular new generation cee’d five-door hatchback.
There are no technical details readily available yet but we can take a look for ourselves at the aggressive aerodynamic wide body kit which comes with a new front bumper with bigger air intakes, extended wheel arches, revised side skirts, and a massive fixed rear wing. We could also notice the engineers did their jobs and added lightweight components such as the carbon fiber front splitter, and taking care of asphalt contact are a set of multi-spoke 18-inch racing wheels shod in high-performance Michelin tires. The carmaker hasn’t yet released any photos of the interior but since we’re dealing with a circuit-exclusive version we bet there’s a bucket seat and a full roll cage in there.
