After a round of the teasing game, the courtesy of the K7 livery that has been adorned for the local market.
The next generation sedan is called K7 in South Korea and will come as the Cadenza in other markets, with the all-new model seemingly taking the line further upscale. We see a more refined exterior styling also adopting the now signature four spot LED fog lamps, with design taking cues from the full-size European peers and delivering a new take on the classic tiger nose grille and the LED daytime running lights. There’s no word yet of technical details and other specifications but the new Cadenza / K7 looks sleeker and larger than the predecessor – length and width seem to be up while the height has taken a negative approach to enable the more dynamic stance.
We can also highlight the swept-back LED headlights and the massive hood as well as the back treatment with double exhaust tips finished with chrome and the metallic accents sitting on top of the horizontal LED taillights. We also took point to the “3.3” badge on the trunk which delivers a hint as to what can be found under the hood – the all new twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 that word around block says it would churn out 370 PS (272 kW), mated to a more upscale 8-speed automatic gearbox. The 2016 Kia K7 / Cadenza is expected to reach worldwide dealerships beginning next year, with pricing and technical details to be released closer to the introduction.
