Kia is planning to develop a new model aimed towards the Nissan Juke, which is expected to hit the market over the following years.
The Nissan Juke was truly a path opener for the B-segment crossovers and now everyone wants a piece of the pie, starting with the “cousins” at Renault with their Captur and going through the Opel / Vauxhall Mokka, the Peugeot 2008, the Chevrolet Trax, the Ford EcoSport and now Kia. The South Korean based automaker has 0 experience in developing B-segment crossovers, but, then again, everyone has to start somewhere, and the company will start by using the Provo Concept, unveiled in Geneva, last week.
Rumors are saying that the carmaker will produce a B-segment crossover based on the Provo Concept, which should help the company attract more customers into the brand. The Provo Concept is actually a hybrid, with an internal combustion engine powering the front wheels and an electric motor “moving” the rear wheels. Kia is on a wave currently and the brand is totally different than it was 10 years ago, but that doesn’t mean that it will stop here. We will just have to wait and see what else Kia has prepared for us.
