Kia unveils the updated K3 – Forte Sedan / Cerato – in South Korea image

The local branch of the South Korean automaker has decided the leaks have been numerous enough to call for the online reveal of the facelifted K3 – which is called around the world either the Forte Sedan or the Cerato.

We brought you a few days ago the first pictures of the K3 in KDM specification, caught in the wild without any sort of camouflage and now the company has decided that an official gallery with the model is better than those pics snatched on the go by spy photographers. The compact sedan comes with elongated HID front lights, complete with LED daylight running lights and the front bumper has been refreshed while the fog lamps got a new location to enable the addition of some vertical air intakes. Looking at the side of the model we noticed little changes and the back comes with updated taillights with revised graphics and LEDs – while the bumper itself does look to have been touched mildly by the designer’s pen.

Not many changes have been operated inside, though we are aware of the more clutter-free infotainment system and the introduction of a new steering wheel with glossy black accents and some more buttons on the central tunnel near the gear change lever. In terms of technical specifications, the company appears to have decided to keep the 1.6-liter GDI naturally aspirated gasoline engine, delivering 132 PS and coming alongside a six-speed automatic. Additionally, a diesel 1.6 VGT with 128 PS will also be offered and now we’re ready to see the Forte Sedan breaking cover in January during the NAIAS in Detroit.
