Koenigsegg has unveiled today the new Agera R at the Geneva auto show.
The hyper-car will sit alongside the production version of the ‘standard’ Agera on Koenigsegg’s stand, and sports a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine chucking out around ‘just’ 1,115bhp when supping on bio-fuel. It weighs in at just 1,330kg, a Fat Man more than a Ford Fiesta.
Although the supercar manufacturer did not release the performance figures of the new model, they did announce its CO2 emissions level (310 g/km) and its fuel consumption (14,7 liter per 100 km / 16 mpg). Mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the R should hit 60mph in around three seconds and on to a top speed of 260mph. However, Koenigsegg says the Agera R has a “theoretical top speed” of around 273 mph, although it is electronically limited to 233 mph.

Agera R comes equipped (as optional) with a special roof section featuring an integrated Thule carbonfibre ski-box containing two pairs of Koenigsegg skis. This £17,593 optional roof-box can be easily swapped for a conventional roof section when not required and has a top speed rating of 186mph. Moreover, winter wheels and tyres are another £7322 option… Very cheap …
The ‘R’ is a £ 132,000 optional package for the standard Agera model – taking the total price to a cool £1 million.
