The Koenigsegg Agera Spider may never happen but that doesn’t mean we cannot enjoy it in the virtual world at least.
Koenigsegg is busy these days with the Regera megacar and with another surprise which will be officially presented to the public during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, on the 3rd of March. But in between the One:1 and the Regera, rendering artists such as Theophilus Chin have created an Agera Spider, which we have to admit that it looks simply marvelous. Keep in mind that the image posted above is nothing more than a simple rendering and that chances are that with all these “megacars”, this will never hit the assembly line.
As you probably already know by now, the Koenigsegg Agera is the successor of the CCX / CCXR and its name is coming from a Swedish verb, “agera”, which means “to act” or “to take action”. The model in question has been named Hypercar of the Year by Top Gear Magazine back in 2010 and it entered production in Angelholm, Sweden, a year later. The Agera has been designed by Christian von Koenigsegg and it is offered as a two-door targa top with a rear mid-engine and a rear-wheel drive layout. The standard supercar has a 927 PH (691 kW) 5.0L V8 twin turbo engine underits hood, the Agera R has a 1,124 HP (838 kW) 5.0L twin turbo and the Agera S is coming with 1,016 HP (758 kW). All of them are connected to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
