Swedish super car-maker Koenigsegg Automotive AB announced that the company is set to enter India next week, in partnership with InterGlobe Enterprises, which runs low- cost carrier Indigo.
This announcement comes days after Ferrari tied up with Shreyans group to distribute its supercars in India.
The company is bringing the Agera here, a supercar with a 4.7-liter aluminium V8 engine with twin-turbo super chargers.
The mid-engined 4.7-litre aluminium V8 with twin-turbo superchargers develops a colossal 910bhp and a max torque of 112kgm at 5100rpm. Impressive acceleration figures of 3.1 seconds to the 100kph mark, 200kph in 8.9sec and an estimated top speed of 390kph sends this 1290kg beast bang into Veyron territory!
Only 16-20 cars will be built every year and Koenigsegg has already begun to take orders since the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010. The car is expected to be priced at close to Rs. 10 crore on its launch.
A faster version of the Agera has also been made. It’s called the Agera R and has the same engine but runs on biofuel. Then it will produce around 1,115 bhp (831 kW; 1,130 PS). It is said that this car could beat the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport’s record of 431 km/h (268 mph).
