Yes, you can now buy a megacar on the “second-hand market”, just don’t expect a cheap price for it.
It has been unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, in a world premiere, and it is the world’s second megacar, after its brother, the One:1. We’re talking about the Koenigsegg Regera, which has been listed for sale, in one example, by a UK-based dealership. You can find the add on mobile.de and the asking price stands at 2,100,010 euros. Delivery will take place in December, 2016, so you will have to wait a bit until you will be able to take it for a spin, that is if you will be its future owner.
The Koenigsegg Regera is taking its power from a 5.0 liter V8 engine, which is backed up by three electric motors. The total output produced stands at more than 1,500 HP. The electric motors have been fitted each on a rear wheel and one on the crankshaft. This is the most powerful vehicle currently in production and it is also the most powerful “electrical motor set-up in production car history”, as the carmaker is stating. The electric motors are taking their juice from the 9.27 kWh 620 volt battery pack. The total weight of the vehicle stands at 1,420 kg and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.8 seconds, according to preliminary times, and from a standstill to 400 km/h (250 mph), this needs just 20 seconds. Only 80 examples will be handcrafted.
