KTM X-Bow R gets the Wimmer treatment and comes out with 380 PS and 500 Nm image

German tuning specialist Wimmer has decided to take a swing at the great looking and track-tailored KTM X-Bow R, delivering an interesting upgrade package specifically tailored to the model’s needs.

With an Audi-sourced 2.0-liter TFSI petrol engine fitted with a bigger turbocharger, high performance fuel injectors and a new ECU the KTM X-Bow R was already a monster that had 300 PS and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. But the negineers over at Wimmer said that was not enough and decided to work their magic to harness even more power – 380 PS (279 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft). The lightweight track-capable car now makes the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in supercar territory: 3.3 seconds and then needs a total of only 11.2 seconds for the 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) run. We should also remind you the X-Bow R only weighs 790 kg (1,741 lbs) thanks to the stripped out body and numerous carbon fiber enhancements. This particular tuned version also has TAN-EI-SYA forged alloy wheels with Toyo semi-slick tires and has also been fitted with the tuner’s two-stage black exhaust system in case the standard roar was not enough to have passers by jumping with fear when hitting the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Since we’re not really talking about a true cabin, there’s not much to discuss about the changes there, with Wimmer working with the features at hand: they covered the steering wheel in leather and went for the more racy “premium” Recaro sport seats with a black finish. All the changes will set you back exactly 99,999 euros and the exclusivity will be insured by the limited first come, first served availability.
