The German based automaker Volkswagen has brought the all-new Beetle Convertible to the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.
After it was officially unveiled for the first time almost two months ago, the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible is ending up in our news once again, this time with the carmaker bringing it to the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, where the model has made its public debut. The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible is getting a similar interior to the regular version of the model but, in order to make it safer, the vehicle now has strengthened A pillars and two pop-up roll bars, which were added behind the rear seats.
Across the United States, the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible will get a 2.5 liter five-cylinder engine, generating a total output of 170 HP and 177 lb-ft of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. A 2.0 liter TDI diesel four-cylinder, producing 140 HP and 236 lb-ft of torque, will also be available for the model, along with the 2.0 liter turbocharged TSI four-cylinder petrol unit, developing 200 HP and 207 lb-ft of torque, mated to either a six-speed manual or to a DSG automatic transmission. Prices for the 2013 VW Beetle Convertible will start at 24,995 USD.
