L.A. Auto Show LIVE: Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo image

The Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept has been officially presented to the public during the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, in a world premiere.

Originally introduced in a virtual trailer just a few days ago, the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept has been finally unveiled in the real world too, even if it has been specially created for PlayStation 3’s Gran Turismo 6. The model in question has been inspired by some classic models, like the 300 SL or the W196 and it’s coming with a different front grille, LED technology and a Formula 1 inspired cockpit.

“By virtue of its proportions and expressive appearance, the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo embodies the brand’s defining design philosophy of sensual purity in a unique way. The design of this concept car reflects to extreme effect the perfect symbiosis between emotional, sensuous contours and intelligently presented high tech”, said the Daimler AG VP of Design, Gorden Wagener.

The 1,384 kg (3,053 lbs) vehicle is taking its power from an AMG V8 engine, mounted at the front, which is producing a total output of 577 HP (430 kW) and it has a peak torque of 799 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The unit is mated to a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT sports transmission. The Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo has also received eight tailpipes in the rear, high performance AMG ceramic brakes and much more.
