Being definitely a show stopper and one of the hottest concepts to be shown at international automotive events, the North American based automaker Cadillac is placing its Ciel Concept into the spotlights once again, at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Cadillac Ciel Concept isn’t quite new and we’ve already seen it at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, but the vehicle definitely has something special and we’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: if Al Capone was still alive, this is the kind of car which he would drive. The Cadillac Ciel Concept represents the best of American design and it will be placed in the backyard of German automakers if it hits the production line, but there’s no word on that yet.
Cadillac says that its Ciel Concept takes its power from a 3.5 liter twin-turbo V6 engine which is developing a total output of 425 horsepower and has a peak torque of 430 lb-ft (583 Nm), mated to a hybrid transmission with low-speed all-electric drive, sending power to an all-wheel drive system. Cadillac didn’t say anything about the Ciel’s performance but when a car is looking like that, frankly we’re not interested in its top speed or 0 to 60 mph acceleration time. We just want to have it in our garage and wash it three times a day.
