While the Lada Niva is the epitome SUV of the Russian manufacturer even after four decades of uninterrupted production, the producer is not standing still and has new offerings for more modern times.
We could note among them the XRAY hatchback/crossover, which is arguably inspired by the Dacia Sandero Stepway, and the carmaker has recently enhanced the mode with a special edition for the local market. The Xray Exclusive is one of the very few special editions in the history of the brand and comes with an exclusive perk indeed for its price point – Alcantara leather upholstery for the heated (front) seats. There’s also a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter, gloss black accents, and LED lighting that “visually expands the interior space of the car and increases comfort in the dark.” There’s also automatic climate control, and in further connection to Dacia the Romanian brand’s infotainment system with USB/AUX connectivity, satellite navigation, parking camera, and Bluetooth.
Motivation comes from the usual 1.8-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine, good for 122 horsepower (90 kilowatts) at the front wheels delivered via a manual or an automatic gearbox. The XRAY Exclusive goes for at least 805,900 rubles, and comes to enhance the model that arrived on the market in February 2016. The regular Xray can also be had with a smaller 1.6-liter motor packing either 106 HP (78 kW) or 114 HP (84 kW).
