The production versions of the Lamborghini and Bentley SUV might be delayed because of the economic crisis, along with other models from the Volkswagen Group.
Even if the Volkswagen Group isn’t affected by the economic crisis for the moment and the company is the biggest automaker in Europe at the moment, the company is playing safe and won’t risk so the Lamborghini and Bentley SUVs will be delayed.
“It’ll be tough to turn the models into sustainable business cases”, said the Frankfurt based HIS analyst, Henner Lehne. “Such vehicles are anything but obligatory during a crisis. Delaying their launch would be no drama but help save costs”, added Tim Schuldt, Equinet AG analyst.
A final decision on whether or not the Lamborghini Urus and Bentley EXP 9 F will be delayed from production will be made on the 23rd of November, during a Volkwagen supervisory board. As a quick reminder, the Bentley EXP 9 F SUV has been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year and it should have been the ultimate luxury SUV. The Lamborghini Urus Concept has been presented at the Beijing Motor Show this year too and it will share the platform with the Bentley SUV.
