The Italian based carmaker Lamborghini is planning to introduce its latest creation, the Aventador LP700-4 Roadster, at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
According to the manufacturer, the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster will be powered by the same 6.5 liter V12 engine like the coupe version. The 6.5 liter V12 unit is developing a total output of 690 horsepower and has a peak torque of 690 Nm, which is translated to 509 lb-ft. Power is being sent to an all-wheel drive system through a seven-speed transmission. Lamborghini is keeping the performance figures of its new Aventador LP700-4 Roadster a surprise for when the supercar will make its debut in Geneva.
While the performance figures have been kept a secret, Lamborghini says that its new Aventador LP700-4 Roadster can return 11 mpg in city and 17 mpg on highway and if you’re really curious about what the supercar can do, you can compare it to the coupe version, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 350 km/h or 217 mph. Additional information on the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster has been limited but rumors say that the roof will be improved compared to the one used on the Murcielago Roadster.
