Stephan Winkelmann has confirmed a production version of the Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster.
Originally unveiled during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the most powerful production model to come out of the Sant’Agata Bolognese facility, the Lamborghini Aventador Super Veloce, is getting ready to receive a new version. The model in question will get a chopped off roof and will be offered as the Aventador SV Roadster. The announcement has been made officially by the Lamborghini boss, Stephan Winkelmann.
“The Aventador LP 50-4 Superveloce is the most pure, sports-oriented and emotional incarnation of a Lamborghini, and all 600 units have been sold, with first deliveries starting now. We will also produce a roadster version, which our dealers worldwide are now taking orders for”, said the official.
No performance figures on the new supercar have been announced by the Italian based automaker at this time but we expect similar figures to the ones of the Aventador SV Coupe. This means that the same 6.5 liter V12 naturally aspirated engine can be found under its hood, producing 750 HP (552 kW). The coupe needs just 2.8 seconds in order to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill. Prices for the current Aventador SV start from 493,069 USD and 327,190 EUR on the Old Continent. However, all 600 units have been sold out. The Aventador SV Roadster will be offered in just 500 units and it will most likely sell just as fast as its solid roof brother.
