A new rendering with the Lamborghini Cabrera, Gallardo’s successor, has hit the web, and it’s showing the supercar in a blue finish.
The Italian based automaker Lamborghini is already working on the Cabrera and the model in question will have the tough job of replacing one of the most popular rear mid-engine, rear-wheel drive supercars out there, the Gallardo. The Lamborghini Cabrera will get a new design language, which will take it closer to its larger brother, the Aventador. The vehicle will share the same platform and some underpinnings with the new generation of the Audi A8, so nothing comes as a surprise in this chapter.
The Lamborghini Cabrera is said to get a similar engine lineup to its predecessor, the Gallardo, and one of the most “advertised” units is the 5.2 liter V10, which will be modified in order to produce approximately 600 HP. The Cabrera will also be lighter and more maneuverable than the Gallardo and for this tamed feel, the company’s fans may criticize it eventually. Rumor has it that the Cabrera will be officially presented to the public during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. More details on it remain unknown for the moment and will probably be announced during the Swiss automotive event.
