The Lamborghini Cabrera will ditch the manual transmission in exchange for an automatic seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.
The Italian based automaker Lamborghini is currently working on the replacement for the Gallardo, which will probably be named the Cabrera, and the model in question will come with a lot of different things. One of the main changes will be the drop of the manual transmission so drivers looking to shift gears in the traditional way will have to settle for the seven-speed double clutch gearbox. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet and it currently represents a report public by Auto Express.
The Lamborghini Cabrera is believed to get an updated 5.2 liter V10 naturally aspirated engine under its hood, which should be good for 600 HP (447 kW) and 541 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque. The supercar should weigh less than 1,500 kg and it will be continued on the same path with the Audi R8. The two vehicles will share the same platform and underpinnings. More details on the Lamborghini Cabrera are limited for the moment and will probably be announced over the following months, when the concept car, or at least a prototype, will be officially unveiled.
