The Lamborghini Urus SUV is believed to give birth to an even hotter version, a Super Veloce.
Lamborghini may lose some of its fans with the development of the luxury SUV, just like Porsche did with the Cayenne, but in the end, the Italian brand has to go on with its times and after a lot of years of market research and development, the Urus is just around the corner. But don’t expect to see it live, in its final production form, at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show or even next year because the vehicle in question is believed to be offered for sale sometimes in 2018.
According to Autocar, who has spoken to the Lamborghini boss, Stephan Winkelmann, all versions of the Urus are possible at this point and don’t act too surprised if the company will decide on offering a Super Veloce variant.
“We have more than enough ideas, but it is too early to confirm anything. All options are possible and we will work on evaluating them in the run-up to launch. If our customers want to see something, we’ll do our best to meet their needs”, said Winkelmann to our source.
The Lamborghini Urus is rumored to share a lot of underpinnings with the Bentley Bentayga. This means that you can expect the V8 and a larger W12 engine under their hoods. We’re not sure at this point whether the Urus will gain a plug-in hybrid version too, but the Bentayga will. Additional details on the vehicle are limited at this point.
