Los Angeles Police Department has recently added a new toy to its fleet, a Lamborghini Gallardo, which will be used to fight crime around the city.
The Dubai Police force is not the only one in the world to use supercars and some of the newest police fleets to get an impressive vehicle is LAPD. The model in question is a Lamborghini Gallardo which may have left the production line, in order to make room for the newly unveiled Huracan, but that doesn’t mean that this is good for the scrap yard. LAPD’s newest Gallardo has been donated from Light Source 1 owners, Travis and Nathalie Marg, which is a fiber optics company.
The Lamborghini Gallardo will be used along with the LAPD Air Support Team and it has already received its police livery, a siren and just about everything else it needs to fight crime. The Gallardo has been assembled between 2003 and 2014 in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, and it was offered in two body styles, two-door coupe and two-door roadster, with a mid-engine and all-wheel drive or a mid-engine and rear-wheel drive. Powertrain options include a 5.0 liter V10 or a 5.2 liter V10, mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automated manual.
